Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus on the situation in north-east Syria

In the Republic of Belarus with deep concern has been following the escalation of tension in north-eastern Syria.
We consider it is important that all parties should act in accordance with the joint agreements reached in the framework of the Astana process and avoid actions that could lead to an escalation of the situation in the region.
We call for urgent return to a dialogue in order to find political ways to resolve the crisis with full respect of the territorial integrity of Syria, which is an indispensable factor for the progressive recovery and development of the country.
