On the visit of the Ambassador of Belarus to Syria Yury Sluka to the Aleppo Governorate

On February 23, 2023, the working visit of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Syrian Arab Republic Yury Sluka to the Aleppo Governorate was held.
During the visit the meeting was held with the Governor of the province Hussein Diab with participation of the Chairman of the Aleppo Chamber of Commerce Amer Hamvi and the Honorary Consul General of Belarus in Syria Dr. Wael Batal.


The prospects of the Belarusian-Syrian cooperation in trade and economic sphere, the possibility of involving the Belarusian side in post-conflict reconstruction of Aleppo province, intensification of interaction between the business structures of the two countries were discussed.

After the talks with the provincial administration Belarusian delegation visited mobile hospital of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus deployed in the Ismailia district, where they got acquainted with the hospital's capabilities to provide medical care to the local population affected by the devastating earthquake on February 6.

According to the colonel of medical service Andrei Gurinovich information during the week of operation of the field hospital Belarusian military doctors provided highly qualified medical assistance to more than 1100 Syrians.

In his speech to the military contingent on the occasion of the Day of Fatherland Defenders and the 105th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus Yury Sluka noted the importance of the mission in assisting people of Syria entrusted to the Belarusian contingent in this difficult time for the Arab Republic.
