Political relations

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Lebanese Republic were established on March 21, 1996.  

The Honorary Consulate of The Republic of Belarus in Lebanon has been working since Juny, 2002. The Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus to the Lebanese Republic is Elie Sarkis. 

The Honorary Consulate of The Lebanese Republic in the Republic of Belarus has been functioning since October, 2005. Gefara Ali Slim is the Honorary Consul of the Lebanese Republic to the Republic of Belarus. 

Official visits at the level of Foreign Minister of the Republic of Belarus and the Lebanese Republic were exchanged in 1997-1998, official visits at the level of Prime Ministers were exchanged in 2002. 

The president of the Lebanese Republic visited the Republic of Belarus in July, 2004. 

The president of the Republic of Belarus returned official visit to the Lebanese Republic in February, 2005. 

Visits of the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Lebanese Republic to the Republic of Belarus took place in September, 2008 and January, 2010. 

The Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon Riad Toufic Salamé visited the Republic of Belarus in Juny, 2009. 

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus visited the Lebanese Republic on Juny 9-10, 2010. Meetings with the President, the Prime Minister, the Speaker of Parliament and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lebanese Republic were held during the visit. The visit of the Acting Minister of Economy and Trade of the Lebanese Republic Adnan Kassar and his meetings with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Belarus and with the Minister of Energy took place on February 8-12, 2011. 

Meeting between A. Kassar and the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Belarus was held during the visit to Minsk on August 30 – September 2, 2015. 

Opening ceremony of the Lebanese — Belarusian Business Council that was set up on the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and of Agriculture basis took place on January 10, 2018. 

Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Syrian Arab Republic and concurrently to Lebanon Yury Sluka presented his credentials to the President of the Lebanese Republic Michel Aoun on March 5, 2019. 

The Days of Belarusian Education were held in Beirut and Damascus on March 18-23, 2019. 

Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus Yuri Sluka met the Minister of Public Health, Dr. J. Jabak on May 15, 2019

Minister of industry of the Republic of Belarus Pavel Utyupin visited the Lebanese Republic on August, 28, 2019. Meetings with his Lebanese counterpart Mr. Wael Abou Faour were held during the visit.

On September, 12, 2019 delegation from the travel and tourism agencies in Belarus met the Minister of Tourism of the Lebanese Republic A.Guidanian.
